I think suicide should be legal in general,if someone is miserable. They should have the right to kill themselves.
We all die at some point anyway.

That is not the topic. The topic is assisted suicide.

Let's take the case of the young man, a veteran, that lost both his legs and his arms.
I don't care if years later they can make me bionic, I would not choose to survive that ordeal. How would I go about committing suicide? Anybody?

I guess you wouldn't claudhopper, not if it means allowing "doctor assisted" suicide at the expense of the frail, and elderly who DO want to live..I guess we have to really weigh the pros and cons. Are we willing to turn a blind eye to the involuntary euthanasia, for the ones who do volunteer?.........Background about Euthanasia in The Netherlands | Patients Rights Council

"In general" it doesn't really matter if it's legal or not, cause you'll be dead, and you absolutely have the inarguable right to [kill yourself].

I was taking a quote from an article I posted for the stats. I actually don't agree with that sentence either. LEO's, if they are good caring people, probably have more reason than most to want to remove themselves from this society. They are witness to the worst of the worst, and are probably put in positions they don't want to be in.
My cousin was a well recognized detective, that ate his gun shortly after his retirement. We'll never really know why, but I do know he drank. Maybe that contributed, or maybe he drank to numb his pain.
