Then that Spinx is in a whole lot of trouble especially with the cash/credit extra fee. There was a time when that Spinx was busy. Now it is cricket with Qt across and with circle K coming. That Spinx will follow the same faith as the one on woodruff across from Walmart.

Murphy USA is currently going through site planning bidding and will soon bid construction for their first standalone store in the Upstate.

It will tear down the former Chick-fil-A on Clemson Blvd in Anderson and build a new 2,800 sqft location with 6-8 pumps.
As of recent, Murphy's USA has been going crazy in expanding their Murphy's Express brand in the Columbia area and they are now coming up here.
(Murphy's Express is a brand that only has standalone locations like the one pictured. As of recent, their strategy in the Columbia area is to take smaller sites on heavily traveled corridors and the locations don't need to be by a Walmart since Murphy's is no longer an official gas partner with Walmart.)

Yes you used to only see Murphy gas at Walmart but apparently now they are expanding with independent stores at non-Walmart locations. Their gas price always seemed to be lower than some of the other competition.

Also Royal farms is expected to expand in this same region, but not necessarily the western Carolinas. Also wait and see if Wegmans grocery store expands from the Triangle down to Charlotte and perhaps eventually the Upstate.

I think Wawa may be planning to infill the Carolinas and Georgia between their established regions of Virginia and Florida. Probably expanding down the I-95 corridor and some of the coastal regions. With this strategy they should avoid potential overlap with QT, per their alleged agreement. So unless this changes, probably no Wawa coming to Charlotte or the Upstate, but we shall see. The same alleged agreement to avoid overlap between Publix and Harris Teeter has obviously deteriorated somewhere, especially in Charlotte.
