Here is a list of grocery stores, their store count, and where they are in Greenville County as of Tuesday, 26 March 2019:Limited assortment/discount grocery
Aldi (7 stores): Greenville (4 stores), Greer, Simpsonville, Taylors
Lidl (2 stores): Greenville
Sav-Mor (1 store): Greenville
Save-A-Lot (1 store): Greenville
I recently noticed a Save-A-Lot in Piedmont as well. That store location was formerly Anderson Meats (2008-ish) and Community Cash (several years earlier).
Save-A-Lot #24710, Piedmont Center, 910 Anderson Street, Piedmont, South Carolina 29673-1417, was initially Community Cash. I cannot recall if Community Cash was succeeded by Acme Market.
Piedmont is between three trade areas: Moonville in Greenville County and Wren and Pelzer in Anderson County. I am mentioning Wren as a new trade area as Powdersville's growth southward down South Carolina Highway 81 could require a supermarket within five years.

Decades ago, BI-LO owned property with tentative plans to build a store near the intersection of highways 81 and 86. That never materialized.

Actually, I think this Community Cash may have been succeeded by IGA at some point in history.

BI-LO had plans to build on that site circa 2000.
BI-LO also had plans for a store in Moonville at the southwest quadrant of Augusta Road and Grove Reserve Parkway. I doubt the location was chosen wisely.
Former Bi-Lo on Roper Mountain Road to be torn down for a multi family development.
Another multi-family development there will likely seriously affect traffic in the vicinity. Roper Mountain Road / Verdae Boulevard is already an alternate route to access and bypass Woodruff Road (and bypass a very busy portion of I-85), plus it provides access to other areas such as Pelham Road via Blacks Drive and Riley Smith Road.

I would rather see it reopen as original occupant Harris Teeter.
