G’ville might soon make Travel & Leisure’s top U.S. destination city 10 years in a row, as Charleston just did this month (the only U.S. city to make their 2022 top 25 destination cities in the world list). Most Charlestonians will say have at it if that happens.
But here’s yet another example of trashing one city while building another up, although, except for the caption that says “you’re going to the wrong city” and then mentioning Charleston and Asheville as popular destinations at the beginning of the article, the title of this thread actually is the main thing that attempts to trash Charleston.
Now excuse me as I decide if I want to take a walk on the beach or on Charleston Harbor.
This popped up in my news feed and I came here to see if someone posted it.. and sho nuff....
I give it to Greenville, they have left Columbia and Augusta alone and now is after the big dawgs...the term punching above ones weight comes to mind.
Columbia is about to blow them all out. we are going to flood this quarry and turn it into a large intown lake flanked by mixed use development with housing. It will have all types of water sports available on the lake (Lake Olympus). You will also be able to take an aerial gondola across it...You cant take dreams away from us.....lol
Maybe old, but not busted.
You guys have a long way to go, but in the mean time please take some of these tourist off of our hands.
This area has the most people in the state and typically gets things like Top Golf first. Or Cheesecake Factory etc. Highest GDP. Nothing missing here that's down there that I care about. Lol.

That's a clever idea. Any truth to this or just a pipe dream?
