Maybe i'm missing the boat here.. But I just noticed today that the Blockbuster at the corner of Mauldin Rd and S Pleasantburg has a "For Sale" sign in the parking lot and "Store Closing" signs in the windows.
Naw, that's new. I drive by there every week and the last time I drove by, the signs still said "Accepting new memberships" or something like that. I'd love to say I'll miss video rental stores, but I can't.
I think this place has been open a while now, but has anyone tried The Silver Screen Café on Wade Hampton Boulevard? I love the concept and the menu looks good, but the location seems odd. They're in the strip mall with Pho 99, near BJU.

I noticed this last Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday since I was driving to GMH. Shouldn't come as a big surprise to anyone here.
It's never a major surprise when a video place closes nowadays.. But.. I would have thought the Mauldin Rd location would be one of the last survivors (Until the whole chain went under)
That's a pretty good location for any style business.. Don't expect it'll stay on the market too terribly long.

We tried to go to the Pho 99 place (they were closed) and saw it. Have driven by it numerous times as well, but never stopped to see what it was. From your post I looked at their website. I love the names of their menu items, you can definitely appreciate the wit, and humor. What really got me laughing was the Dinner and a Movie page. Now, I REALLY want to try this place!!!! You have to see the video on this page. OMG! This guy's a hoot!
Does anyone know what is going into the former Movie Gallery location on Fairview Rd? We saw some dumpsters outside and renovation/demo work going on in there.
IHOP coming to Fairview Rd in the former Movie Gallery Bldg according to Greenville Journal

That's a tough location to access, but should do well there since there are few breakfast places in Simpsonville.
