I want to buy some land and place an unpermitted cabin on it.

Can you guys recommend an area where I can do this, and be walking distance to water where I can fish?

Only logical place I can think of is "in your dream".

Isn;t that rather disrespectful if thats all you are brining in the way of a contribution to Hawaii?

Read the recent thread "Unpermitted cabin on Big Island". You can find it by doing a forum search for "unpermitted".

Good luck finding a cheap piece of land within walking distance of the water. Doesn't exist in this state.

Actually, relatively cheap land within walking distance of the ocean in Hawaiʻi does exist. Unfortunately, it's probably still cooling down (considering that fresh lava was flowing over it last month) and getting building supplies to it would present a bit of a logistical challenge.

I like small or "tiny" houses and not wasting money(if you choose to do so). At the same time, I think they should be clean and neat. So, I have to ask, is that an old dumpster?

Shipping container, Dumpster, Used washing macine,, who cares what it it. Its the attitude that coming to Hawaii to live like a bum or tramp is some acceptable thing. I wish they would post where they live so we can ask the same questions in their group and watch the sparks fly.
"hello all,
I'm moving from Hawaii to (insert city, town, state here) and wondering where is a placein your comunity where I can buy some land CHEAP so I can plop down my tent and composting toilet and live with all of you?"
What do you folks think the next responses will be?
