Well, it's my business and I never said doctors and surgeons are all evil. The surgeon I saw does replacements and PRP and Stem Cells. So I wanted a fresh opinion from a younger more progressive surgeon.

I asked him WHY, insurance isn't picking up PRP and Stem Cells Yet, and he said this:

The medical world makes much more money with surgery, drugs from the surgery, PT and rehabs from the surgery and what can follow down the road...if revisions are needed, infections set in etc etc...

I figured this angle a long time ago, but it came from this surgeon's mouth.

He suggests nothing at this point -- no surgery, no injections...as the staph infection could be stirred up and he wants no harm if he can avoid the possibility.

Oh so you think the surgeon doesn't know what he's in for knowing me now. I can laugh at your comments thank goodness. It's so good that you come across like you know me, LLCNYC. Of course, I know nothing about you.

I don't know the code, Dr Darrow mentions medical mistakes etc and the insurance companies have a code for those.

As a layperson, I know medical mistakes are made a lot.

I just found this link, don't know about coding.

So if you are told by Dr Darrow that there are little green men or alligators living in the sewers of NYC, you would also believe it?

Medical mistakes are indeed made. I don't believe that there are "a lot" of them, simply because of our wonderful legal system (I am being sarcastic here). If a doctor makes a lot of mistakes, lawyers will descend on him like flies on a carcass and quickly drive him out of business. And rightly so.

You keep repeating stuff you read, without using your critical thinking skills.

So what did the doctor do to find out if you have a staph infection?

I'm no doc, no coder, a person who lives with botched hip replacement so I have to listen and believe some of what I hear/read. You think the surgeon will tell me he messed up. He attempted to attack my yelp review but it's out there.

It's truly stunning how so many in the pharma camp think the drugs and surgery do no harm.

Again, I have no vested interest in the world of pharma and everything in the complex. Just a patient who goes in hoping for good results.

He didn't do a thing, I told him up front. Why would I keep something like that from a surgeon or doctor.

I'm sure he knows about infection from surgeries. He's a surgeon. And there are most likely plenty of surgeries that end up with infections.

You think he's going to sit there and give me a run down of surgeries he's done where patients end up with infections.

I thought you were saying he thinks you may have a staph infection now.

I don't understand.... he doesn't want to do anything because it may stir up........ what?

He makes even more money if he does PRP or stem cells (for cash), it does not work, then the patient has surgery.

There is no way a cured staph infection could be "stirred up".

The fact that he did not offer you any treatment speaks volumes. That way he can avoid the possibility of any harm.
