But how often do you use the restroom per day for number two?
When I was much younger, the 'conventional' wisdom was that there was no right amount of times per day for bowel movements. Some people might go only once per few days. Others several times a day.
But nowadays with colon health so important, I'm sure most people will agree that the more the better to keep things moving and prevent toxins from building up.
Ever since I started eating more fiber like oatmeal daily, I've been going at least two to three times per day.
I eats lots of whole grains and fruits/vegetables and also go at least 2x a day. It is nice to know that this is normal and not a concern.
Colon cancer is a predominantly Western disease. It's because of the enormous amounts of meat and animal products consumed. Oh and the unnatural toilets that make you sit instead of squat, preventing the complete evacuation of feces. And finally (nothing to do with cancer but a pet peeve of mine), the use of toilet paper instead of a shower to clean "down there".
And to answer the question:
1x usually, sometimes 2x. I guess the average would be 1.5x a day.
If I am lucky, once a week. They did an x-ray, and as my doctor bluntly put it, I'm "full of sh*t"
I'm working to correct this currently and making progress. Weird thing is I never felt constipated, but maybe I am so used to it that I don't recognize it.

I take good dose of magnesium to help me keep regular, as I've had a history of slow bowels and even had two blockages in my life, NOT GOOD. And good to drink water and even include hot water in that mix with lemon squeeze. I feel terrible if I miss a day of movements. In and out....
My wonderful SIL died from Colon Cancer at 51. I am 68 and have had 4 with no issues except a polyp from the 1st one, when I was 50. I eat 2 teaspoons of psyllium fiber in the morning with 2 glasses of water and 1 at 6pm with another glass of water. I suffered from chronic constipation for 20+ years and when I had my hernia repaired, voila back to normal. I also drink a V8 juice and 5 prunes plus Oatmeal every day.
Oh, I guess I just don't store all that food in my colon.
Fat and protein, as long as you are not eating a ton of calories, should be absorbed and utilized by your body at a rate of well over 95%........nothing much left to be "stored" in the colon. Humans can and in most situations do a fantastic job breaking-down, absorbing and utilizing animal-protein.
Thusly, eating mostly fat and protein, in a calorie-appropriate diet, will usually produce a lot less in the way of bowel-movements.

OK, you may know more than me about storing waste but for me a BM daily is important...I eat fats and protein too...but like to be cleaned out.
