They make those stools you can use to raise your feet up.

I'm with you and pretty anal about BM's...love the cleaned out light feeling, otherwise loggy and just horrid. I take magnesium for sleep too and that works while I'm sleeping and since I started ox bile about a year ago things move so good for me. I still eat some meats, less, but some.

Barring an illness or a reaction to certain fooda, I go once a day in the morning, about 10 minutes after I wake up.

Been that way for as long as I can remember.

But how often do you use the restroom per day for number two?

When I was much younger, the 'conventional' wisdom was that there was no right amount of times per day for bowel movements. Some people might go only once per few days. Others several times a day.

But nowadays with colon health so important, I'm sure most people will agree that the more the better to keep things moving and prevent toxins from building up.

Ever since I started eating more fiber like oatmeal daily, I've been going at least two to three times per day.
I defecate 3 to 4 times a day on weekdays and 1 to 2 times a day on the weekends. I don't know why I defecate less on weekend days. I guess my colon likes to take it easy on weekends.

FWIW I eat A LOT of fruit and nuts but I do eat moderate amounts of meat and fat too.

I think they are called squatty potty. You see them piled in every Bed Bath and Beyond. My brother raved about it so I bought 1. It was awkward to use plus it takes up a lot of room. I can accomplish the same thing by leaning forward on the toilet. I take Psyllium Fiber whole husks, not powdered. Metamucil contains flavoring and sweeteners which I don't care for. Once you establish a regular rhythm and your colon muscles strengthen it makes things a whole lot easier. I have had colon issues almost my entire life. IBS from 13-35 and then chronic constipation up until a year ago. I drink lots of water avoid cheese, rice and bananas and take 3 teaspoons of fiber with a glass of water 3 times a day.

Of course, eating right helps keep you healthy, I'll agree with that.

I would say how many times a day I go, but I signed a pledge when I turned 55, never to discuss my bathroom habits with anyone but a doctor. Maybe you have met some seniors who want to talk about their "movements" in great detail with anyone who will listen. I don't want to be one of those people, either the speaker or the listener.
ROFL, kinda what I was thinking when I started reading this thread. I'm a senior in a community with lots of seniors, and while when we get together there is a little talk about health issues (not too much, and there are lots of other topics), I don't think I have ever heard the topic of bathroom habits or anything related ever come up.

If I drink just one cup of coffee in the morning, I have to use the restroom about twice that day.

If I drink two cups of coffee in the morning, I have to use the restroom about twenty five times.
