I never viewed sidewalks as a class thing.

No, sidewalks are for parents who want to walk with children without so much fear that they will be run over.

hmm, well they walk right down the middle of the street here with baby joggers and dogs. Of course there isn't much traffic. And the streets are wide and the drivers are neighbors...so if they drive like a nut, you know where they live.

There are no sidewalks old League City. That's the part where the oak trees & Spanish moss give exclusive parts of inner Houston a run for its money. Instead there are flood control ditches in everyone's front yards, and plenty of the houses are quite crappy.

I dunno about this Spanish Moss stuff. I like it on some of the houses around here, yet I don't want it in my trees. I agree, I'm glad we don't have those culvert ditches here. They're mosquito breeding grounds.

HA. i was just kidding, folks. I just couldn't think of a reason why there are no sidewalks in this neighborhood. It looks like there was but taken away at some point

No there have never been sidewalks. There're sidewalks up at the main streets. ie. Memorial, Kirkwood, Wilcrest etc.

Several neighborhoods in Houston don't have them. We have them in Briargrove, and they're a huge hazard, buckling and cracking. I remember when Tanglewood voted them down in the early 90's for those reasons. Everyone walks in the street.
