Anybody get a chance to go to Atlanta I ate at Max's Coal fired Pizza. Sauce was just right. Crust was good but wish it had a bit more chew to it. Ordered pizza and it was out in literally 5 minutes. They have wood/coal oven that they cook their pizza in and the kitchen is open to view.

Mock me if you will, but once you try the Quattro Formagi you can thank me.

It literally brought tears to my eyes the first time I ate one.

Cork & Crust Pizzeria + Wine Bar: Inviting atmosphere, interesting food, extensive bar but they probably got the name wrong | AL.com

MADISON, Alabama - Of the 33 food items on Cork & Crust Pizzeria + Wine Bar's compelling menu, 26 of them are things other than pizza. Actually, the proprietors may want to consider changing the name on the sign above this Madison spot, which opened in late October, because Cork & Crust is also legit in the entrees and small plates departments.

Cork & Crust is located in the space formerly occupied by Famous Joe's Pizzeria in the Village Shoppes of Madison. Never made it to Famous Joe's. But Cork & Crust has a cool, speakeasy-ish vibe going on inside - particularly for restaurant located in a suburban retail center. Dusky jazz playing on the sound system. Minimalist, moody lighting. A significant, good-looking dark-wood bar. No artwork whatsoever on the walls, with seating including a row of booths, lots of standard tables and a long, tall community-style table near the bar. And outside, for when the weather isn't so cold it makes your very thoughts freeze, there's a significant patio with strands of lights hanging over head.

My son was in Chicago over the weekend, he had Lou Malnati's - was not impressed. Said Tortuga's in B'ham was a slice above.
