This is a question for those who are vehemently opposed to illegal immigration as well as people who like it.
I am just trying to gauge if there is anything that could be done to make the majority happy. Sorry if the poll options don't explain everything... you only get a few words to do it in. Basically I wanted to start "severe" and work down to "total leniency".

IMHO~the illegal aliens need to be rounded up and deported. They are here illegally and have no desire to integrate into American society. Once they're returned to their homeland, we need to patrol our borders and keep the aliens out. They are a drain on our society both financially and morally.
Asset seizure, deport, and lifetime ban from re-entering
An American who traffics in drugs, or acquires assets through embezzlement, forfeits the "ill gotten gains", so should the illegal aliens.
An illegal alien should be deported, and a lifetime ban as punishment for disrespecting our laws and our country.

exactly. Americans MUST REALIZE that we need ZERO TOLERANCE with illegal immigrants. Just the fact of crossing the border without an official authorization and worst, hiding from authorities, makes it automatically an international crime. That put in great danger the prosperity of our nation.
People, if we do not demand a total solution for that, we will sign our own sentence of death. We will destroy this country with stupid temporary decisions.
Illegals, ZERO TOLERANCE. Prosecution, round them up, deport them ALL. No conditons.
Immigration system, freeze it, re do it from zero. Only those who dream to be Americans and unconditionally love this country might be allowed to come here. And those people would be selected under the new system wich should be 95% a psychological study of the individual applying, instead of the actual forms burocrasy who let everybody come here for 1001 reasons with the only intention of milk the system.
Border, total sealing and protection. No detention and prosecution after crossing. That is waste of time and resources. Stop them right in the line and do not let them pass. Under any sign of violence, respond with violence and a half.
Anyone who turns in an illegal alien should get all the illegals assets including car, house, and paycheck. Illegals should then be put in a tent city jail in the middle of the desert where all they get to eat is baloney sandwiches. Once deported they should never be allowed back in.

I like your idea hawkeye....hmm, I do believe you may be onto something. You too Davart, the problem would be finding a country that would take them. After all, L.E. agencies give rewards and cuts of the pie for tips on drug hauls... Too bad so few of our wonderful elected officials want to admonish illegals for being criminals, seems to me once they crossed the border they became just that. I voted for asset seizure, deportation, and lifetime banning.

Doesn't matter if a country wants them (The politicians) or not, send them anyway ... I'm thinking Iran and give them a copy of Playboy and 6 pack right before dropping them off. That should fix their little red wagon.
I voted for deportation and assest seizure, same as we do for home grown criminals. Any criminal who is here illegally shouldn't be leaving here with any money earned on these shores.
