They can't come here legally because they don't have the education and job skills we need. Or they have a physical or mental disability. Why should Americans be asked to admit people who will ultimately be nothing but a drain on our tax dollars?
Do you think someone should be able to come here legally if they are seriously mentally ill? A vent dependent quadraplegic requiring thousands of dollars in medical care each month? With full blown AIDS or uncontrolled TB? Someone in dire need of a liver or kidney transplant?
Should someone be allowed to come here if they are 85 and blind?
If they are 25 and have only a third grade education?
At what point would you draw the line? Do you think every single low skilled peasant with a sixth grade education, five children and no knowledge of English should be allowed to come here? Particularly in the middle of a huge recession with 5 candidates for every job?
How is that fair to American citizens? Why should Americans and Americans and only be asked to accommodate the economic desires of the world's population?
Quotas or not - they don't qualify for legal immigration - so they come illegally. Illegals in any country tend to be from the lower classes with nothing to lose.
Except for the whole "splitting up families facade", oh and crossing a desert or an Ocean where they might die or be killed by someone who wants to imprison them for ransom or a drug or sex trade. Other than that, nothing to lose.
This is the truth. It's impossible to get permission into the US 8/10 times.
You have proof? A whole lot of illegals never even tried to get permission to come the legal way. They never attempted to find an employer sponsor. Many illegals never filled out immigration forms nor paid any of the fees.
What a whole lot of illegals do is just come on over. It's so very easy to do that.
And those who get visitor visas get them very easily and then they simply stay on and then demand they be given permanent residency because they did.
Besides it's very foolish to believe the USA can take in the entire population of the world. There has to be some kind of limit.
And some men rape because they can't get laid...it's still wrong and illegal: smack:
Yes, and some embezzle because they can't get a raise, or some rob banks because they can't legally withdraw a lot of cash.
The idea that they must be allowed to come illegally because they can't come legally is beyond absurd.
Far too many come with no skills, no ability to ever learn English, no desire to become Americans, but because we have extremely generous welfare handouts, free health care, free food, free housing to give them. They really cannot make it here without the subsidies.
We admit more LEGAL immigrants than ALL other countries combined. So, how is it virtually impossible for foreigners to immigrate legally?
Clearly, if they were a benefit to our country, they would not encounter a problem. I know LOTS of legal immigrants, and none entered illegally. Perhaps they should try another country.

Sorry your honor, do you know how hard it is to get someone to voluntarily give you money from their wallet? That's why I robbed him instead.

And anyone with an education would know the reason for this and would have no problem with it.
As the saying(s) goes:
There's a reason for everything.
There's a limit to everything.
