They also believed in slavery, hanging, settling a dispute with a duel, executing people for treason and and many other things we no longer do.
It was a different country with what seemed to be unlimited resources and space to grow. The realities of the country then and now are completely different.
I think you also forgot to consider that the USA allows more immigration today than all other nations combined.

OK, so nobody here cares what the founders said about anything? Or everyone's just going to admit they only care when the founders agree with them and they don't care when the founders don't agree with them?

I suggest you re-read what tinman said. We are a different country today. Things have to change with the times. I don't see where the founders encouraged illegal immigration anyway.

Not at all but one must take it in context. What was the reality of the day.
They thought it was perfectly acceptable to own slaves. I dont.
They thought settling an insult with a duel was acceptable. I well sometimes I wouldnt mind.
I agree with with much of what they believed in. But I have no doubt were they here today they might views some of their own ideas differently.
How did they feel about social programs?
What would they say about paying people to stay at home?
How would they feel about how we use our military as the worlds police force?

Ok, that's cool. I also believe things are different nowadays.

So when someone makes a claim like "this nation was founded on white Christian culture" or whatever, you guys will jump on that argument too, right?

So where did the founders give their support for illegal immigration?

This nation is 70-80% Christian, that is why we are referred to as a Christian nation.

Not you guys. I never bring religion into the debate.
