I think you are grasping at straws. The question is not whether or not a Colombian-born person who is allegedly illegal can speak English or not. The question is whether they could speak Spanish or not. You don't conduct immigration interviews with someone you are about to deport to a country because they illegally came here and not do at least some of it in the language of that country. The girl is speaking English as if she were a native of Texas - and guess what, she was! - but yet this was supposed to be an illegal Colombian native whom they were questioning about her background and origins. Hate to tell you this, but Colombians speak Spanish. Especially illegal ones. If hearing and seeing that didn't cause the radar of ICE or the judge to think maybe they had the wrong person, they're just idiots.
Logic 101. Please study.
Well that does it! It was one big conspiracy by the racist DHS to make sure they deported a "black" girl. Interesting though, that Obama is protecting Latinos (also a minority group) from deportation so why wasn't this girl protected from that especially since Obama himself is black? In view of all the evidence and details provided I think that DHS and the court did their jobs to the best of their ability. Sorry you disagree.
Yea, it WOULD be far fetched for a 15 year old in Colombia to be bilingual. I doubt that even 10 percent of the population there is bilingual. And for her to be bilingual to the point that she could have effortless conversation with NO ACCENT would be highly suspicious and a dead giveaway. Hell, Hispanic Americans born and raised here have accents if they're bilingual. Not strong ones, but enough to indicate that they're bilingual.
Please show us where you found out that she was able to have "effortless conversation with NO ACCENT."

You don't recognize sarcasm when you see it? This story has been so blown up by conspiracy theories, etc. in spite of the details, lies and evidence that DHS had to work with that it is getting funnier by the minute. I still suspect an underlying agenda from those who are making such a fuss over this.

Here we go again. How is Obama protecting Latinos from deportation?
Once again, Obama is the toughest president on immigration issues with respect to our southern border in 50 years....EASILY.
I guess you guys think that the more you say otherwise, the more likely it'll be true.

She only knows English. How else do you think she spoke? Yea, she could've faked a Spanish accent, but that would've tipped someone off to start speaking Spanish to her, and when she wouldn't have been able to respond back in Spanish....KA-BOOM...RED FLAG!!
You can make all the excuses you want, they're not cutting it here. This is incompetence, plain and simple.

So what you are saying is that you ASSUME she speaks no Spanish. That you don't have any actual facts here, and are making it up as you go to make some bizarre point.
The ONLY reason this girl wound up in Colombia is because SHE WANTED TO.

It's in the article that she doesn't speak Spanish, or at least didn't when she got there.
I'm struggling to understand why it matters at all whether or not she speaks Spanish. What does that have to do with an idiotic deportation?
