had obeyed our laws and stayed in their country,

Exactly. That's why we have laws - but these people will risk their lives for the easy money and welfare handouts but they absolutely will not make any effort to reform their own countries.
Reforms would accomplish far more -- but these people care only about themselves. They'll let their countries go to hell and anyone who stays behind can be damned -- it's like people jumping into a lifeboat until it sinks rather than grab a pail to bail out the boat.

Actually a cop that isn't afraid to confront criminals is not a bad thing at all. The villain in this story is the driver of the truck with a supporting cast of fellow criminals who were along for the ride.

Really? What did this trooper do wrong? You're stereotyping most law enforcement personnel as being lawless renegades and in particular in the state of Texas?
