No illegal immigration should be tolerated, but the porous Mexican border is overwhelmingly the main problem. Fix that and the vast majority of the problem is solved.
Exactly. Fix the biggest problem first and work down the list.
For many people ... yes ... it's about the illegality. I'll agree with you about that. But for many others, as we've seen here on C-D ... it's really about the color of someone's skin or their ethnicity. Not always easy to separate the two. If you have a better and realistic idea of how to deal with the 10+ million illegal aliens from around the world who are present in the USA today ... I'm all ears. Thanks.
The only ones making this about skin color and ethnicity are the ethnocentric pro-illegals.
The illegal Irish enjoyed, for many years, government officials looking the other way which allowed them to stay. They're white. Tend top be educated. And Ted Kennedy and other prominent Irish-Americans were on their side. For these reasons they, for the most part, blended-in and evaded the law.
Ireland, Spain, Italy, Germany and so on do just that so why not the US?
So ILLEGAL aliens breaking a bunch of laws ARE "American" values? Sheesh!
Unfortunately, the way things are going, that's pretty much correct. It's now "American" to be an uneducated loser to get whatever handouts and freebees you can by whatever means necessary.

Yes in general that is correct.
If it was 11- 20 million Illegal Mongolians, Finns, Serbs or Zulus they would be crying to high Heaven, But God forbid that anyone expect that Illegal Hispanics be held accountable for anything.
ILLEGAL = ILLEGAL no matter how you try and FAIL to spin it !!!
I've said this so many times before, but it bears repeating.
I don't care where you're from. I don't care what color your skin is, what religion you are, what ethnicity you are, or what your sexual orientation is.
All I expect from my fellow humans is for them to follow the law, do unto others, and keep their noses out of other peoples' private business. That is the social contract I expect everyone to sign. The rest is just noise...details.
If you're here legally, fine. Go about your business.
If you're here illegally, go home. We don't want you here.
A hand full of Irish aren't causing the problems the millions and millions and millions and millions and millions and millions and millions and millions of hispanics are that are here "without documentation" < that means as illegal tresspassers....case n point. We should limit the number of hispanics to the same number of Irish and Russians here and then we will have parody. < That means fairness..lol

The border issues should be addresses but not with a wall as there are always was to get around or under them. As the Boston bombers showed, we should be much more selective who we let in from all around the world.
