You are spot on. I think most of them believe amnesty just means they can stay and continue the same old same old with NO accountability like we citizens have....They want to colonise the USA not become part of it.

Why we let this happen is beyond me. At least 1/4 of many large Cities are Colonias with electricity.

Very very true. Virtually every illegal would happily pack up and go home if they were told that food stamps and free health care are no longer going to exist in the USA but their own countries are offering these programs now.

There's nothing about the USA that thrills them --- not the culture, nor the language, nor the Constitution and certainly not the people of this country. They adore our big powerful government that provides so much in the way of foodstamps, free meals at schools, and if they work, they love the big easy money here and they're not expected to pay taxes or even child support.

Yep,

Amnesty isn't a "solution". It's an option that is favorable to the wealthy. A "solution" was already means tested by President Eisenhower. Make it so harsh for the trespassers they pack it out voluntarily.

Doing nothing beats the option these wealthy idiots prefer.
