In 2013, LA County had a population of 10.2 million. That brings LA's undocumented immigration population at 10% of LA County's total population. That's quite high.

LA County isn't alone. Dallas county's percentage is over 10% as well.

I figured that this had to be incorrect and then I checked the link in the OP. This is just undocumented from Mexico. MiamiDade and Broward would be much higher if it included undocumented from elsewhere since most of the metro's immigration is coming from the Caribbean and South America. MiamiDade would be really high if Cubans weren't allowed preferential immigration status.

No it isn't just undocumented from Mexico. That's just the default screen. It includes all undocumented immigrants regardless of country.

If you look at the link, Miami-Dade has just 16,000 undocumented Mexican immigrants.

Miami-Dade County or the state of Florida isn't really a haven for Mexicans whether they be
"undocumented" or Legal citizens.

The Hispanic population in Florida is completely different compared to the rest of the US where Mexicans reside.
Most of the Unauthorized Immigrant population in Florida has to do with a lot of Europeans & South Americans over staying their Visas instead.

Cubans are "allowed preferential immigration status" due their status as "political refugees" by the US Congress going back decades.
That is neither here or there based on Cold War politics back then.

If Congress didn't declare Cubans as "political refugees" back in the 1960's I doubt so many would have settled in Miami since most refugees thought Castro was a "temporary thing and were looking to go back to their home country.

For such a small Immigrant population, Cubans are politically & economically powerful in Miami ( they basically run the Government in Miami) & in the US.
Hence Marco Rubio & Ted Cruz as Cuban-Americans Presidential hopefuls .

Wherever they are illegal aliens ( I refuse to use the made up PC word of "undocumented") they need to be caught and deported.
