But will it ever happen?

No way. Can't fine those law-breaking employers, can we? They are making too much money from low paid illegals.
Per the bolded --- Not everybody who is sneaking across the border is coming here to work. Many are coming to cause us harm. For example, drug smugglers and child traffickers as well as OTMs who are terrorists. Among the tons of trash that illegals dump on fragile desert eco-systems, Muslim prayer rugs and Korans have been found as well as a diary written in Arabic.

Scroll down to a story that aired on KVOA in Tucson on 8/13/04. It's titled: "Illegals from terrorist nations are crossing the border into Arizona"

The Antis always come up with the same "all you got to do is" nonsense.

The only practical solution is to reduce the illegal population well below a million. And the only practical way to do that is to legalize most. You do not need to provide a path to citizenship or to get welfare. It will almost certainly come eventually but for 10 years or so we can put it off. That takes care of voting and welfare.

All thoughts of tight enforcement of employment laws is a hopeless pipe dream. The US business lobby can and will defeat all such schemes. You might get some tightening but likely ony in the context of a grand arrangement including legalization. And even that will not be very tight likely including the requirement to knowledgeably hire...which defeats all but the flagrant case like Tyson.

There is no will to change the 14th and any attempt will fail. Simply lacks popular supprt anywhere near the vast majority needed to change the Constitution.

So all the antis can do is obstruct any solution. Letting the problem continue.

^dismisses enforcement of existing laws as nonsense, then proposes nonsense such redefine illegal activities to skew numbers.

We should make drinking and driving legal, that will lower DUI rates. We should lower the age of consent, that will reduce pedophilia. Please vote for me.

Better illegal aliens STAY "illegal" here in the US. Obama played them cause their kind never got any amnesty after 8 years and, Trump won't be any better.

It is of course nonsense. We have laws that allow the deportation of illegals . They however are funded at 1/5th to 1/10th what it would cost to enforce them. Face the facts. We do not and will not enforce the immigration laws aganst our illegal populations. One would think you guys would have figured that out after 30 years.

Real simple. Make it a criminal offense to hire an illegal. This includes homeowners looking for cleaning ladies or gardeners as much as it does businesses. You hire an illegal, you go to jail. In support of this the govt needs to provide an easy mechanism for employers to verify applicant status.

Not a chance. The Chambers of Commerce have much more pull than most groups. And at that asll you would do would force the illegals to the black market creating a bigger problem then we have now.

YOur post certainly indicate you have no idea what is going on. Not a single additional dime has been added to any ICE budget. Not a single dime has been allocated to build a wall.

You really think something has changed? Gee I got a bridge in Brooklyn I am trying to sell...
