It’s truly sad that some people are so color conscious. Sadly, they instill these prejudices in their children. It has never bothered me. I like my caramel color; it increases my chances of being rescued…….dark enough to be seen in a snow storm, and light enough to be seen in a mud slide.

Maybe...but it could easily be said that the "white" power structure which dominates Mexican society has been one of the biggest 'drivers' of continued illegal immigration from Mexico into the US....so it's probably a 'tossup'.

Uhhhhhh.....well, you COULD say that, yes. I'm not sure how many people would find it relevant, though. After all, if my Aunt had b*lls, she'd be my Uncle...but she doesn't, she isn't, and that's unlikely to ever change. So I 'm not sure how relevant that statement is. But you're free to make it.
By the way, if an ILLEGAL'S ancestors had traveled to the US, then he wouldn't BE illegal, he'd be a US citizen, and this whole question would be moot. But that's not what happened, so it's not relevant, either. So what are you gonna do?...right?

Yes it's true in Asian countries. Light skin is prized by Asian culture and Asian women spend a lot of money on skin lightening products. Dark skin is associated with manual labor and working outside. Light skin is associated with high status, wealth and leisure.

Thats what I'm saying. All over the world, white is upheld as beauty. Thats what you get when Europeans colonize most of the world.
