The Mexicans -like most of the world and most of the U.S. -disapprove of Bush for his handling of the Iraq war. Just because you may think they are beneath you does not mean they cannot express their displeasure with Bush.
Also Bush and Fox were on supposedly working towards collaborative solutions to the issues between the 2 countries (immigration, drugs, guns going to Mexico from the U.S.) up until 9/11. Then Bush basically blew Mexico off. So there is some resentment there as well.
From what I've read the Mexicans hate Bush because they feel the amnesty proposal he was trying to force down our throats didn't go far enough. The Mexicans want a much easier path to legalization.
Kdizzle beat me to the punch line. That is just what third worlders do, bite the hand that feeds them.
So, America, be proud, be arrogant, because it doesn't matter what traits we exhibit (good or bad)--due to the never ending envy of the have nots, we will ALWAYS be hated.
Actually no. That is not correct. The OP article has a statement from one of the protestors stating - that they are demonstrating against the war. You will note the protestors were leftists. Basically they were upset at the arrogance of the Bush administration. Can't blame them for that. And the Mexican government had been cautiously supportive of the immigration plan.

Actually the Mexican government did not support the plan as it was. Therer support amounted to "...its better than nothing..." They want and support amnesty, but the proposal defeated had fees that were too expensive for the average illegal alien to afford.

Actually, I would be far more worried if the Mexicans liked us. I am hoping they reach the point where they hate us so much that they no longer want to come here.
It could be that, as the North American Union comes to pass, blurring the borders between Mexico, the US, and Canada, that ALL citizens of this continent will begin to reach a new accord. Maybe the Mexicans are gradually joining with us, and beginning to feel about "the Decider" the same way we do....?
It is widely believed that the amnesty bill is the work of greedy corporations and the Mexican government. Although they have always known illegal immigration has an adverse affect on the quality of life in America for average Americans, greedy corporation didn't care about the future of America. They just want cheap labor. Their greed, though despicable, pales in comparison to the desire of Mexico to take over America. That plan began many years ago when the Mexican government encouraged its citizens to immigrate to the US illegally. In addition to taking jobs from Americans, driving down wages, committing crimes and draining scarce resources, the illegals, thanks to our generous health care system and welfare programs, have been reproducing copiously to ensure vast number of future Mexicans. This multi-pronged plan includes massive illegal immigration, huge numbers of anchor babies and the amnesty bill. They succeeded with steps 1 and 2. It was only the vigilance of the American people that thwarted step 3 of their plan. To those who try to protect this country, I thank you.

Unfortunately, that's impossible; there are far to many decent Americans.
