The email was sent on Saturday. As I said in my original post I'll post their reponse here when and if I receive one.

I don't need to vote on my feet to leave the State of California. I voted for Proposition 187 in 1994 which was repealed and would have restricted benefits to illegal aliens. I would honestly like to see a study that would show how much money the State of California would have today, along with how many illegals actually would reside here if Prop. 187 had been allowed to stand.
I just don't see why you'd use numbers that you yourself say are nonsense.

I didn't say you needed to vote with your feet, I said "If illegals are that much of a problem for you," that you could vote with your feet.

Why not just live and let live, instead of ?

Maybe any construction site in certain states/metros.

But, not even a plurality of illegals work in construction.

Live and let live has bankrupted the state of California. That's why there is no benefit in live and let live. We have laws and borders and they've been selectively enforced for the past 30 years.

It's not my fault, it's not your fault it's the fault of the government of the United States not doing their job.

Great point! (highlighted in bold)

I don't have a problem with government(s) (either CA or US) enforcing laws that are already on the books. Laws should be enforced, but some aren't. At the same token, I don't fault people for taking advantage of loopholes for their own personal benefit, whether I agree with it morally or not. IMO, the blame (if any is to be doled out) should be placed on the government, not the illegals. IMO, the government's lax laws are to blame for illegal immigration, not the illegal immigrants themselves. If anything, one could almost say that illegally immigrating is nothing more than a crime of opportunity, likened to burglarizing a house full of valuables with an open front door.

As far as "live and let live", I was saying that in reference to a personal standpoint. Like, "live your life, LuckyGem, don't worry so much about the illegals". Not from a CA/US legislative standpoint.

Whether I agree with you or not, I think all one person (or even a small group) can do to change the course of CA's future is to vote accordingly. CA's budget woes aren't solely the result of illegal immigration. The illegals aren't going anywhere, and I don't see them going anywhere in our lifetime. Nor do I envision a scenario where CA will elect a strong core of anti-illegal immigration politicians.

You are making a choice LuckyGem, you can continue to climb uphill on CA's illegal immigration issue, or you can avoid it altogether by moving states or by doing your best to put it out of mind.

Whatever you decide, I wish you happiness.

Not if here: when California turns against the illegal aliens in its midst; it will be sudden and savage.

The pot continues to boil..........between the growing unemployment there and Calif's impending financial crash.............

Cool.

But I highly doubt it.

What we are going to see is a mass exodus of IAs out of CA when the social service flow stops here in the next couple of months (Thank you Arnold). There will be even less need for expensive rent, homes or additional schools when that happens. Look out Nevada, they are coming.

The bolded comment sounds great, but I don't think the illegal immigrants are in CA simply because of the social services.

I have noticed that you left Arizona off the list of recipient states........

Illegals are fast becoming persona non grata here
