And there is the actual issue isn't it.
For example. The dream act would have allowed for a free pass on crimes that would disqualify and even result in deportation of legal immigrants.
If my wife had been caught use fraudulent documentation she would have been deported. In fact they tell you that any arrest with a guilty conviction would result in deportation. That would include something as minor as a shop lifting charge.
The pro-illegal's would argue that it is not the illegals fault but society's fault for denying them a green card/ VISA. The fact that many if not most illegals never even attempted to apply for such is not relevent to the pro-side.
Sort of like saying I was discriminated against for that job and I am sueing you. But you never even applied for the job, how did I discriminate? Doesn't matter I knew that you would say no so I am sueing you.

Agreed. There is a LONG list of what are considerred "deportable offences" for LEGAL migrants, yet I constantly see articles of incidents involving illegals where they get a "pass" on the offences they have committed that would earn a legal migrant a swift trip home.

I knew an immigrant from germany here on a work VISA who was deported because of a DUI.

What makes anyone think Illegals should get a free pass on this. It is not a RIGHT to drive but a privilege.
Take the bus Illegals. Better yet buy a bike or walk.
Better yet, get the hell outta my country. I don't know the numbers, but supposedly there was a mass exodus of illegals out of Arizona after SB1070. That state is surrounded by Blue, so let Cali, Colorado and NM have them. Hopefully Ohio will see a bunch of illegals leaving as well.

I can already hear the responses from lefties here in the forums; "But what about all those jobs that Americans won't do?" I don't believe in that. Most of those jobs are what, construction, fast food and farm work, right? Teenagers will take up a large number of the jobs at fast food restaurants. The unemployment rate among young unskilled workers is huge, plus you've got huge numbers more of kids that don't qualify for unemployment because they just want to find a summer job, but can't. I refuse to believe that Americans won't work in the construction industry. And I saw somewhere that our food prices would rise by $8 a week if we had to pay Americans to do the work many illegals are doing. Really, that's nothing. I would gladly work an extra 40 minutes each week to fix the immigration problem.
