I suspect E-Verify will soon become prevalent even in CA. Insolvency has a way of changing perspectives.

We should cut off all fed funds to any sanctuary cities.

Honestly, the San Bernardino Sun is really not terribly reliable. They have had many issues regarding not getting facts straight and pushing their own agendas. I've personally had a run in with them in the past (in high school, they reported about a racial riot at my school...yet the "riot" was not race motivated nor was it even a riot. They also had slanderous claims about teachers that were "too liberal".)
Even without the questionable integrity of the paper, why not focus on issues that cost the county more? Illegal immigrants are hardly the largest drain on the county, state, or nation. I feel that if one truly wants to fix things, why not go after the LARGER issues.

There shouldn't even be anything such as sanctuary cities, but you're right. Cut the money (the head off the snake) and the snake dies.

Some are quite affluent cities that contribute greatly to this nation. Some need funding for its citizens. Why defund any city? Sometimes illegal immigrants have indeed aided in their municipalities. Greg Thompson pointed out stories of rural Alabama where the increased population and commerce of illegal immigrants help stem the rural out migration and increased city revenues. There are plenty of Postvilles in this nation, and for that we need to find a way to integrate current illegal immigrants, as well as find measures to shift migration from illegal to legal. To encourage legal behaviors while discouraging illegal behaviors. If you don't encourage legal migration at this current level, then you will only continue to perpetuate the black market type of immigration that many vehemently write about on this board.

This sounds like amnesty with a different name.
You say we should discourage illegal behaviors while you want to integrate the current crop of illegals.
Amnesty for law breaking illegal aliens is not a good idea.

Umm...currently they are still illegal and highly integrated in some communities, does that mean that they achieved amnesty?

See above.

It might be, coupled with a few caveats. I'd like to see the data. And before people go over the last amnesty, I'd like to see current data with current demographics, with new caveats in place. Seeing how you don't have that, you don't know for sure.

Thanks and thanks.
My point is that you insist you are not advocating amnesty (you said this on another thread, not this one) when in fact you are. You just choose to call it integration.
