Regarding the SB1070, has anyone found a list of states that require proof of residency to issue identification?
Working in the hospitality industry we have been hearing a lot of mixed things regarding those who wish to travel here but have nothing more than a drivers license, and are concerned about not being able to prove citizenship if questioned.
We are looking for all the states whose ID would be enough to prove citizenship.
I've seen reported on news shows that the streets of LA is the easiest city to establish a proof of ID, including driver's license and SS card. Of course they're bogus but who'd know?

Here's Texas requirements for residency..if you can't prove you are a citizen or here legally you get no ID/License:
Found it!! this is a few years old.. not sure what impact the REAL ID act has had on these numbers: http://www.numbersusa.com/content/fi...rsLicenses.pdf
The REAL ID act would require all states to give DL's out to legal citizens, and drivers cards out to Illegal Immigrants. The drivers card is not mandatory, each state decides (based on it's laws) if it will issue the driver card. I know there are a few states that have implemented the program, some states needed extensions and others are rejecting the act (not sure how that will affect their government funding) but if you see a license with a lil gold star.. they are legal citizens of the United States.

The Arizona law states that any state issued ID is sufficient. It does not have to be a state that requires proof of citizenship for it to be accepted.
