WASHINGTON - The Obama administration on Friday urged the Supreme Court to prevent Arizona from enforcing a law that punishes businesses that employ illegal immigrants, arguing that federal immigration law trumps state efforts.
The administration's views, contained in a new filing at the high court, are similar to concerns President Barack Obama has expressed about a new Arizona law that cracks down on illegal immigrants.

Between Shrub and Obama, and their cohorts in both houses of congress, I have lost all respect for the government ! Unless the people wake up, this 200 year experiment called America will be lost to corporate greed and will mirror everything that so many have fought for ( and died for) , the very things that made America so unique among nations.

I hear so much about the "will of the people" and I'm beginning to wonder if " the people" really have to will anymore.

We shall see.....

Employers shouldn't be punished for employing illegals. They are employers. They run a business. They should not be made to be immigration officials or enforce U.S. laws.

We should start putting immigration officials in jail for not doing their job. They are the ones responsible. Not employers.

And start with Napolitano and John Morton......

And, yes, employers should be punished. It is against the law to employ illegals.

It might be illegal to hire them. But they aren't immigration officials or document specialists. Nor should they be expected to be so.

Blaming employers is nonsense.
We should be blaming the illegals and the feds.

I know the only reason Obama is doing this is so he can get more votes, but he's right. (probably the only thing he has ever been right about)

We should never punish private citizens for government failure. It's too Soviet Unionish.

And that's all I got to say about that.

You are SO wrong.

Do you understand the word 'INCENTIVE'???

If millions of employers did not provide the incentive, fewer illegals would cross the border.

Of course the government and law enforcement need to do their jobs, but employers SHOULD be held accountable for their WILLING participation in CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR.

All employers have to do is to use e-verify to verify if the employees they hire are legal and the employers are off the hook. Scumbag employers knowingly hiring illegals in the first place provided the jobs magnet that is the reason most of the illegals are here. These scumbag employers have been complicit and you know it.

If that could ever happen.

I'm just hoping he won't win an reelection.

I'm beginning to wonder what John McCain would do/say about illegal immigrants if he'd won.
