I just found this on their Facebook wall.

In the final months of Le Parigo Restaurant we will be featuring “best of” dishes to honor past menus, and will have nightly specials. We invite you to dine at Le Parigo and mention this press release to receive 30% off for all food, and to ask questions about our plans for the future at 416 W. Clinch Avenue.

Sounds like now is the time to gorge on some Parisian dishes! Too bad they don't have chicken fingers for the 12-year-old!

Metropulse is a good source. Hopefully the will stick to the small portions and many courses the French are known for. Perhaps wines of good quality will follow.

They already have a great wine list.

I think that's it...no, wait...J. Alexander's. LOL.

I agree with you on the Frisch's Big Boy. Nearest one to Knoxville is on I75 in London, KY. And Shoney's has not been affiliated with Big Boy for years now. They used thousand island sauce on their burgers while Frisch's uses tartar sauce. The corporate Big Boy in Michigan also uses thousand island, and Bob's Big Boy in California uses a red relish sauce and mayo. But I prefer Frisch's and wish they would expand out of Ohio and Kentucky.

Yes, the Frisch's is at exit 38. We travel to Ohio frequently, to see family, and I know that's the first one. If I can hold out, I can make it to around exit 101 I think where the next one is. LOL.

I would really love to have a Skyline here too but I know that's one of those "love it or hate it" types of places. And like I said with Frisch's and Shoney's, NO Goldstar Chili is not Skyline. They taste completely different, look the same but not. Just like White Castle and Krystal. Look the same are so NOT the same.

Those are just places that I "miss" from home, though they are small chains. Frisch's Big Boy, onion rings and a cup of chili...yum. Heck, throw in a chocolate shake or a fountain CocaCola...now I'm in heaven.

We are heading to Ohio in late September to go to my class reunion and visit my stepson who is attending OSU. Guess I'll get my Frisch's fix there!!

But I have to say, as many Ohio plates that I see in PF and Gatlinburg, I think it would do well here.
I think it would do well in Knoxville too, especially if they opened it as a drive in.

I think a Frisch's would do well in Knoxville, too. I've always thought that Shoney's biggest mistake was when they dropped the Big Boy franchise. I remember going to Shoney's in Nashville when I was a kid and it was a drive-in, kind of like a Sonic on steroids, and they always had that Big Boy statue outside and a menu that was more appetizing (especially for kids). I would dearly love to have another Big Boy in Knoxville.

I agree 110%!

One of the best things about Frisch's is that it caters to all ages. Great kids meal, prices reasonable and always good service. The consistancy of their signature items has always been good. Not only do they have the Big Boy sandwich, but their Hot Fudge Cake is a chocolate lovers dream! And their salad bar is always stocked with fresh items and tended to by a separate staff. It's kept clean and that's an important thing to me.

With such a diverse mix of people in Knoxville, I really feel that Frisch's would be an excellent fit. They have a great breakfast bar and if that's not your forte, you can order one of their wonderful omlets or fluffy pancakes.

Maybe I should write a letter to the corporate offices, begging...er....ah...asking them to open a location here?

Glad to hear that Skyline has expanded outside of Ohio. And I think Knoxville, as well as Asheville, Greenville, SC, and Charlotte would be good markets as well. And Culver's Butter Burgers and Custard is expanding into Greenville, SC and Fort Mill, SC/Charlotte market. They should also consider Knoxville. Closest current location is Lexington, KY.
