My family and I are new to the Green Valley area in Henderson. I have a 16 month old son and I'm looking for some toddler friendly place areas for him. I checked out Run Plus Fun, but it seemed to be geared more to older kids and he is too big for the infant area. Sunset Park is down the st from us and I see the nice hiking/walking trail the park has, but i'm not sure if it's very kid friendly. Is their a nice play area for toddlers? Also, what other places are nice for toddlers in Henderson?

Welcome to Henderson! One of my kids favorite places to escape the heat was Rock n Roll Kids (they are older and involved in other stuff now!). Its just down the road actually from Run Plus Fun on the opposite side of the street. Jon the owner is great with kids. Check out their website or Facebook page. Another great resource is the Henderson Happenings magazine which will give you a TON of classes for kids of all ages (mommy and me classes for a 16 month old). You can pull it up online through cityofhenderson.com or drop into, say, the Henderson Generational Center (located on Paseo Verde and Green Valley Pkwy) to grab a hard copy. Lots of rec centers in Henderson, which also have pools. 2 dollars for a swim. I think swim lessons start as early as 1 year. Just splashing and learning to blow bubbles with mama, really! Hit up the Paseo Verde Library which is directly across from the Henderson Multi Gen Center. Their kids section has a play area and depending on the dy/time story time and a craft. In fact most libraries (the Green Valley branch sounds closest to you, and in the same parking lot as Good Night Pediatrics and GODSEND of an after hours pediatric urgent care. Dr. Kalm rocks! Open 5pm-5am!) have storytime and craft once or twice a week.

There is also My Gym which is at The District in Green Valley Ranch. I'm sure they have a website as well. If you are on a tight budget you might check out a place called the Monkey Gym which is off Mountain Vista and Sunset. Not sure what ages they begin at though and I don't have any personal experience with them.

If I think of anything else, I'll add it later. Good Luck getting settled!
