It is actually quicker to say what I didn't like about living there.
Uhm.... I got nothing.
Loved the restaurants, shopping, people, landscape, outdoor activities, always something to do, blue skies and sunshine, the list goes on and on

I guess then the mob with the pitchforks and the torches wasn't a hint to leave....

My most favorite thing about Las Vegas, was even in the coldest part of winter with temps in the teens, the sun still was bright and warm, and after a lifetime of gray days IN NYC where by February 14th you want to slit your wrists just to see some color, Las Vegas still is paradise in my book.

Oh and I actually liked taking buses for the two months that I did it. I have been a writer for several decades and I met some very interesting people on buses. Life stories were traded etc and it made commuting by bus fun. I have owned a car every day since my 18th birthday, and wasn't sure how I would do without one. But it was no problem. Las Vegas is set up on such an easy grid, it was easy to get wherever I needed to.

I'm glad I got to visit the Landmark, the Hacienda, the Sands and several other historical properties that have made way for newer ones.

If nothing else, Vegas has an interesting history for a little podunk gambling hole in the desert.
How about the El Rancho on the Strip across from Circus Circus together with its neighbor the Algiers and Bob Stupak's Space themed, Vegas World also gone. At least with Vegas World, we now have the Stratosphere, not the same for the El Rancho site, now a derelict building.

For most long term locals, the strip is to be avoided.
