He or she is an intern who wants to live cheap and likely work ridiculous long hours...why complicate their life.
Henderson is an easy commute, maybe 25 minutes depending on where. I doubt he'll work "ridiculously long" hours, probably 50, if that, 60 max. Not like he's doing investment banking or working at a law firm.

It's just a suggestion and something he should consider. Plus, I would HIGHLY recommend it if he thinks he may be back in a year for full-time because he very well might choose Henderson and it gives him a chance to try one area/apartment and see if that's where he'd want to come back.

You're also assuming that the area will be "quite liveable" for him when that may not be the case. I've always spent the extra little money for a quality place in better areas, even as a student or recent grad. And there are plenty of good places in Henderson within his price range.

Clark - it is my turf. I know it pretty well. If he/she wants to spend a little more money they can get a house within two blocks and live royally. If they want to buy cheap and convenient there is a Seigel Suites right across the street from that address.

Sending them to one of our hallowed suburbs is not a service. Just a waste of time and money.

I really appreciate the advice from both of you. I did not intend to start an argument as I think both of your opinions are valuable and I've started looking in both areas. While Henderson is a little farther away I am still considering it, especially if there ends up being a chance to stay on long-term.

Olecapt- I did look into living in an extended stay hotel type of thing and Siegel Suites came up as an option. However, I've read conflicting reviews about some of the locations and the clientele surrounding them. However if you live in the area I would really appreciate your opinion on them, or even any specific apartment complexes to look at. I don't want it to seem like I'm trying to get others to do all my research for me, I just find it easier to have a starting point from someone that is familar with the area.

Thanks to all for their help.

Good luck with the job and the move. Try to enjoy the Strip in moderation and get out to experience more of the city. It's an easy town to love or hate.

I am not a fan of Siegel Suites in general but this could well be an exception. The place is across from your work and it is a livable area. I would check it out. The area is safe and convenient. What I can't tell is the clientele...or the quality of the management. Consider staying there short term and move if it is not workable. There are others in the apartment category as you head out Charleston Tiffany is one I think it is around Jones.

No more personal attacks. This entire thread was filled with them. If you have some advice as to the areas then go ahead and post otherwise refrain from posting....at all. Happy New Year!
