full coverage means if you hit someone you're covered, if they hit you you're covered.. if they hit and run, you're covered.. i've always felt the amounts were like playing cards, how much risk are you willing to take.. if you have nothing, no house, no money, etc.. then having huge numbers 100/300etc. wouldn't mean much, because if you get sued for half mil, you're going to file bankruptcy anyway.

Default to airics...

i had DM'ed you about car insurance a few weeks ago. i went to allstate's website and went to their ballpark figures page. Thats where they give you an estimate, simply based on your age, type of car you drive, whether its leased or financed, and then it gives you estimates for various levels of coverage

Naturally since I wanted to look at the figures again Allstate is doing preventative maintenance on the pages so Ican't show you what it pulled up for me

But if I remember correctly, and you know my 2003 Nissan Altima is financed, the most affordable coverage they had listed was $1200 for 6 months, which is about what I'm paying right now here in Florida

Funny you should mention a Nissan Altima as that is exactly what I have. Previously I wrote that I had checked State Farm and Geico and they could not begin to match what I currently pay. I have a 2009 SE and pay $550 per year with Auto Owners now in Ohio and once in Las Vegas, they are represented there and it will not be that much more. Also here we get sucked into paying for uninsured motorist, leading one to think if they are hit by an uninsured motorist, their car and medical expenses are covered. Wrong. It happened to us and uninsured does not cover car damages, only medical damages which are really, as LVD said, paid by your own ins. co according to your medical limits.

Bodily Injury $50K each person and $100K each occurrence
Property Damage $100,000 each ocurrence
Auto Collision Insurance actual cash value; $500 deductible
Auto Comprehension Insurance actual cash value; $100 Deductible
Uninsured Mortists $25k/$50K (do not take the minimum!!! otherwise you will not be able to collect it if happens)
Get Triple A's for towing/rental car if your car breaks down. It costs $80 a year. (do not pay tow/rental car thru insurance, they're ripping you off)

No, that is what I pay for only six months, and this is with absolutely no coverage other than the 15/30/10 liability limits. They are ripping me off. My driving record is perfect with no tickets OR accidents. I have no idea how the people in this thread are getting such great rates. I have checked around everywhere and Progressive (who I have) is by far the lowest.

I assume you are much older then me and your car is paid off if it is that cheap

$550 a year is incredibly low for an 09 Altima 3.5 SE v6 engine. I looked up auto owners and on the map they have it shows they do NOT provide car insurance in Nevada

$550 is 2 months worth of insurance for me Being 20 sucks. And my car is 2003 Altima 2.5 S not even a V6, if i had bought that V6 I originally wanted (was a 2002, with 125,000 miles) insurance would be well over $300 a month regardless of whether I live in Orlando or Las Vegas

Yes, I paid cash for my car but it is not a V6. AutoOwners also referred me to an agency in Las Vegas called McNeely, if I'm not mistaken so I could continue their coverage. Some states do not take into consideration excellent credit. I'll have to check on Nevada. Here that reduces my insurance considerably. I also checked Progressive and they could not compete with Auto Owners full coverage.
