A few weeks ago, I passed marcus ave and lakeville rd westbound, ready to make a right turn to get on NSP. The light turned red (red arrow), there are two right turn lanes, I stopped (I was the first car), the other car (next lane) stopped too. (completed stop)
But after that, both cars made the right turn since there is no "no turn on red", but when I looked at the rear view mirror, none of the cars made the move, they all still stopped.........do you guys think I will get a ticket? thanks
No turn on red sign, yet you made the turn, and you wonder if you will get a ticket? Thanks for the laugh!

I think you are saying you were on Marcus Avenue westbound and turned right on Lakeville heading north, is that correct? That sounds like the intersection from your description. I'm not sure if there is a camera there but as long as you came to a full stop you should be OK.
sorry for the poor description, yes, that was exactly I was traveling. and yes, there was a camera, just worry about the ticket since from my rear view mirror, none of the cars were moving....
come to a complete stop before a right turn or you WILL get a ticket.......I learned this lesson the hard way.
I would not be surprised if they started using these cameras at certain STOP sign intersection (Rolling stop)....
The only upside to the camera violation is there is no points. If a traffic cop were to issue the same ticket, it would likely come with points/increase insurance rates
In 2013, red light camera use declined in the US for the first time.
Quote:
Rajiv Shah, a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago who studied red light cameras in Chicago in 2010, said that Marsh's observations are spot-on.
“A significant portion of the red light cameras—maybe 70 or 80 percent—are for rolling right turns,” Shah told Ars. “When you think of RLC, they're for people blowing through the intersection, which don't have nearly the same kind of chance for accident or injury. A lot of people feel like it's really unfair, doing the things like the right turns.
in other word, I can still make a right turn even the red light is a "red arrow" as long as there no "no turn on red"? thanks
Usually lanes which have a red arrow are also no turn on red. (My theory being if you can turn right on red there is no need for a red/green arrow.) I would not turn right on red if there is a red arrow unless I have seen everyone doing it. Even then I might not.
Now the problem with these lights and camera are now almost everyone is afraid to make the right on red regardless of how long they stop fearing they will get a ticket.
i.e. Vets Hwy and Bway Ave in Holbrook. Mini-van in front of me sat there the whole time was red and refused to make the right on red with no one coming.
