The reason why things are so different here or rather in LA is because if things go south THAN I have absolutely nothing to fallback on except for maybe a few friends if they were willing to help me, otherwise I'd have to go back home which as you guys can already tell I am not willing to do. I'm a persistant man, I won't take no for an answer. I'm not a mooch, I'm just trying to live my life to the fullest. Would y'all have that attitude towards a Californian who was in the same position as I am?
Yes. Absolutely.

The problem is my family and I have little to no money so I need as much help from the state as I can get to succeed and NO whining to me about taxes. Believe me they're going to a good cause as I cannot stand Boston any longer. I plan on going to LACC with fasfa when I get for Theatre Acting BUT I need to work in LA for at least a year beforehand. Maybe become a waiter? I heard that chicks get better tips than guys do but I'm willing to do anything and everything I can to get by at this point in time.

I wouldn't worry about coming here! We have too many actors as it is. Go back to school and get a good trade. I suspect you might have a future selling solar to seniors!! We need good actors as salesmen.

So, settle down into Mom's cozy basement and stay where you are!!

Oh, and I know personally 4 talented Californian kids that travelled to Hollywood to become rich and famous in the past 5 years. All 4 spent their saving and came up dry in the acting biz! The competition is so intense and there are so many talented thespians in the LA it is almost impossible to break in. One wonders how a no talent Rosie O'Donnell made it in the entertainment business?

At best we could expect to see, Joe Blow as washroom attendant #2, to his credit.

Or the OP could move to Cali with nothing and end up doing prostitution.
