Yeah, LA is so liberal and progressive...but only when it comes to free gimme goodies: rent control, subsidized housing etc., not really liberal and "progressive" except in white and Jewish areas.

I posted a few years back that Los Angeles had the first major elected political entity that was socially conservative and fiscally liberal several years ago when the LA City Council voted to civilly take cars from people who were SUSPECTED(Thats right, they didnt have to be even arrested) of committing narcotics, street racing, or prostitution related crimes. Of course the law was struck down by the California Supreme Court, but the political class in LA had made clear their intent.

For those of you that dont know, fiscally liberal and socially conservative is exactly opposite the freedom loving libertarians...its called an authoritarian.

Liberal native Angeleno here. I left. It had nothing to do with being fed up with policies I agreed with, I got priced out. Live in Houston now. Love it. Liberal city in red state. I dont like the red state part, but its fine. Houston's been great to me.

BTW, most of the people leaving California arent conservative. They just got priced out.
