There are several but you only asked for one:

I think society will eventually work for faster deaths and not prolonging life of the homeless. There are no shortage or workers and immigrant workers in a never ending supply. If you don't have a job...too bad for you.

Hmmm ... there's a lot of truth to that dissertation on envy. But I don't think there's any conspiracy to it between politicians, media, and academia. I see existence as relentlessly opportunistic. And each interest will leverage what it can for its own purposes.

And then there's the physical, biological reality that homo sapiens is structured to have a distinct limitation to the number of other homo sapiens we can truly interact with empathetically. (That being Dunbar's Number of 150 individuals.). So that, while we are intellectually capable of projecting qualities and feelings toward larger groups, we will - somewhat as the video proposes - always find differences and faults beyond our most intimate communities.

That said, I also don't see how this applies to CaliRestoration receiving threats of the extreme type he describes. Since his financial reality is unknown other than his self representation, we'd have to assume that the persons threatening him believe him and hate him for his wealth - while there is an equally likely scenario that he is being intensely disliked for the views he expresses in the manner he expresses himself.

You know the old saying: “It's not just what you say, but how you say it.”

And speaking of what and how things are said, we're drifting further and further off topic here.

And I'm guessing you are an EOE (expert on everything)?

Hate to burst your bubble, but the highly rich folks got so much through backstabbing and corruption.

Expect high violence then. This would be a threat on people's very lives, and you can expect some very ugly riots, vicious robberies, possibly an all out WAR if society ever tries to go in this direction. Not to mention all of the backstabbing and dirty things people will pull on eachother so they don't become 'disposable'. NOBODY would be safe, and NOBODY could be trusted; I don't care how many gates, stockpiled weapons, or how much "oh, but it can never happen to ME" attitude someone has, you can't hold back a mob of thousands hellbent on tearing you a new one and pillaging your home, or the turncoats in your own little realm.

That stupid little painter from Austria did this and EVERYBODY knows how that went!

I'm willing to bet neither you or anybody else pitching this stupid idea has ever thought it through.

Default Sanitation Dept wants $17 Million to clean up homeless encampments

Tasked with cleaning up rapidly multiplying numbers of homeless encampments, Los Angeles sanitation workers have asked the city for more resources to handle a backlog of thousands of service requests:

This is the same Sanitation Department that has been the subject of David Goldstein's investigations into (1) a booze-filled party for 70 employees that lasted for hours on a Tuesday afternoon, and (2) a Sanitation Manager using his city-owned SUV to run personal errands all day long.

If you can get a government job you have hit the jackpot. You don't have to do a thing. The ultimate gravy train.

Oh, some got rich that way ... and some didn't. A bunch do well on the up and up. I have met plenty of nice and highly ethical people who are very wealthy indeed.

I'll give you an example: Bill Gates. I despise his technology. But he's a good soul. He knows not what he's loosed on the world. He meant well. And spreads his money around like hippo poop (if you don't know, hippos fan their tails when they crap to spread it widely and it enriches the environment they live in) ... fertilizer ...

Hell, I made a bucket load of money by accident on a lucky tip on a day I felt like gambling. People win lotteries. People inherit. Some have a knack for writing a great children's fantasy like Harry Potter ... So it goes.

Uh. Maybe I missed it, but I didn't think slackercruiser was advocating as you suggest he was. I think he was predicting what he saw might happen?

I also want to point out the political reprecussions of all this, such as the UN pulling out of New York, sanctions against us by other countries, the damaging ripples throughout the world economy, and if things got really violent, the possibility of NATO troops in our streets
