I can't wait to see the moose. I've been nominated by T's posse to take eight teenage girls camping in Baxter this summer so I'd like to check out a couple of places I haven't been. I haven't actually said yes but I'm sure they know I can be talked into it. After all, Baxter is another favorite thing about Maine!

I don't know if he's a native or a transplant but he's certainly a Mainer.
In Vermont, they charge them for that. It's called Bed and Breakfast!

Eight teenage girls deep in the back woods of Maine. Don't forget your wine, you might need it just to get to sleep at night as they giggle their way into the wee hours of the morning.

My suggestion? Keep your shotgun handy!

The thought has crossed my mind. Not because of this person but because of my work situation. I can't keep a gun nearby, it's too dangerous. I do have protection someone would least expect nearby. And I will check him out before he comes back.

B&B - I once spent a weekend at a farm B&B and paid good money. If I had a bigger house and didn't like privacy so much it would be a great way to earn a living.

The people of Maine are its treasure. I have only been here 1 day and at least 3 Mainers have helped me way beyond what most people would be expected to do.

Thanks for the welcome. Its MenME's time for the computer. We had the TV on channel 13, MPBN, the only channel in Eastport on rabbit ears, I don't care for the British programming, so, while she is nesting, I jumped back on the computer!

I met 3 Mainers for the first time that in their own way helped me to get here, and keep my sanity. That is the treasure of Maine, as well as some beautiful scenery. I have to hang some curtain rods tomorrow....MenME is standing next to me so, bye, she is looking at the computer!

We choose Maine, for a combination of things.

The 'depressed' economy [which makes my pension look bigger].

The low cost of land.

The ruralness.

The low taxes.

The overall ability we would have to live here and to prosper while on pension.

Then after moving here we have found Maine to be a wonderful state with wonderful people
