a few yrs ago, a bobcat was attacked in abbott (just south of moosehead lake) it was attacked by a much much larger cat..

Maine mosquitoes are just as numerous as their Florida relatives - but they ARE slower!
You'll get to chalk up more kills per bite received, which helps your attitude. (At least it does mine!)

They all have little DeLorme Atlases and mini-GPS units.

Fisher cats... I've only ever seen one, and that was on Thursday. The dad for the family I nanny for hit one on his way to work that morning, in Milo. Msina, know for sure now you have fishers, lol. It was a nasty looking thing. He's getting it mounted for posterity. Had to call the game warden to get a tag for it. Still creeps me out to think of it... they are icky buggers.
