Hi,

I recently moved from Philadelphia to Plymouth. I got a job near lexington which 65 miles away from Plymouth. I know its a solid 1 hour 10 mins drive. I heard that traffic is very heavy during rush hours. So I am planning to start early to go to work. Can you please provide me some suggestions about the route and off hours time to go to Lexington. Any suggestions is really appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I am sorry to say, you have picked an impossible commute. I would say it would take at least two hours one way even with a non-peak commute. A lot of people are on the roads even early here. Just look at the news hours. They start at 4:30 AM.
I would try to move ASAP.

Jamesnana shares great wisdom.

The commute will be hellacious.

It is not worth your sanity.

MOVE.

Seriously.

If you haven't done this commute in the winter you are in for a rude awakening. My suggestion would be to move closer to the job, or get a job closer to Plymouth. Spending almost 3 hours a day on the road wouldn't be worth it to me.

That commute will suck in the winter and even more in the summer when everyone is trying to get to Cape Cod. Unless you can somehow manage to leave Plymouth by 5am and leave Lexington by like 2, I really think you are screwed.

My brother-in-law commutes from Kingston to Newton and it is lousy; your commute is worse.

Seriously, if you moved to Plymouth, don't look for a job 60+ miles away.

I couldn't agree more with whatever people are saying. I strongly recommend you move closer to your job or find another job closer to home. A couple years ago during a snow storm it took me an hour to get from Newton to Needham which was just a few miles. Commutes can get really tough around here when it snows.

It almost doesn't matter what time OP leaves (unless it's like 3am). Leaving at 6 or 7 still gets OP into the thick of rush hour traffic on arrival.
Really, I think it can't be done. Not only that it's too long at best, it's rarely "at best." It's like moving to Chicago and planning to drive to Pittsburgh every day. Just can't be done. Sorry.
