![]() Here is a quintessential New England picture of the 1761 Old Mill restaurant in Westminster, MA. This is a former saw mill that was converted into a restaurant in 1946! We have been going to this north central Massachusetts restaurant for many years for its great New England fare and character (and an inviting, roaring fireplace in the colder weather). There's a beautiful front porch, pond, waterfall, covered bridge and, for food, delicious roast prime rib and roast country duck, to name a few. The Sunday morning buffet is a nice, relaxing way to spend a Sunday with some really wonderful food including homemade corn fritters and pecan rolls, carved ham and roast beef, breakfast specials, and many homemade desserts. There's also a creaky, charming country store in the basement! Many years ago, the Old Mill had a Sunday night buffet with all-you-can-eat-lobster for a very low price. Sadly, that's a faded memory that won't come back, but the Old Mill is always worth traveling to for its nice regional fare and great New England look! The Old Mill is located on Rte. 2A, in Westminster, MA. |

They were taken all over the place. The first three were taken at October Mountain State Forest in Lee, MA (specifically the Gorge trail--fairly short hike and tons of mosquitoes, but absolutely gorgeous and worth it, if you're ever out there). The forth and fifth were taken in downtown Shelburne, MA. The sixth is in my backyard--it's the Manhan River in Easthampton, MA. The seventh was taken in Mike's Corn Maze in Sunderland, MA (Mike's Corn Maze Welcome). The eighth was taken at the UMass campus pond in Amherst. And the last picture is of an abandoned mill that they are restoring for historical reasons in Leverett, MA.
