Comes down to the "personal choice" that many people argue so much for. People can make intelligent decisions for themselves as to what they need to do to stay safe without having to wait for someone to tell them if they can, or cannot do it.

Another example. Disneyland is open. Nothing would stop someone right now from hoping on a plane, booking a hotel, and spending a week at Disneyland. Should you do that? Obviously people have different opinions.

There are just really some weird rules throughout all of this. I could go to target or catch a flight to Europe but can't walk into the local library or sit down to eat in a restaurant (not saying i want to do this personally).

People from all over the world can still go to Disney world and it seems they certainly are: https://www.cinemablend.com/news/255...tting-capacity

but you cant have your family get together at restaurant for an hour or two or even have them in your home. Something seems wrong here. And I get that there are people who like me who still will have their parents over for Christmas just as there are people still going to disney.

It doesn't matter what other people are doing - you are responsible for you and your choices. If other people are being irresponsible, it's even MORE important for us each individually to do the right thing to protect the healthcare system. It's the old "if everyone jumped off a bridge, would you?" thing.

Just because other people are going to Disney (which I agree, is absolutely ridiculous) does not magically make it OK for you to socialize with people outside of your household without testing/quarantining.

Ive said it before here and to my family. I feel bad for not going out to eat, and I feel bad if/when restaurants have to close - I wish the federal govt would give money for it.

Good luck!
This is what I do. I’ve not officially “dined” in a restaurant since early March. I know of no one in the industry who has any negative feelings about people choosing not to dine inside.

Another ridiculous example of it's ok to do certain things and not others:

Football makes the school money, having graduation does not. It's a convenient excuse for sure.

exactly. Same reason they didn't shut down airports, Disneyworld, target, walmart. It's all about money in many ways.

They didn't shut airports because there is still essential travel going on. They didn't shut Target and Walmart because they sell essential food and medicine. Disney, well, because its Florida. Not much mystery to it.

but the airports/airlines aren't just accommodating people who NEED to travel. Plenty are still going on vacations. We saw how many people went to other places on Thanksgiving and the same thing will happen at Xmas.

Hasnt the last 10 months taught you anything about human nature? People can be selfish.

This virus could have a 50% mortality rate and people would still book a trip to Disneyland
