that's because of the filtration. Going out late is associated with drinks which means more breathing. It's not like someone goes to a bar for two minutes and leaves.

Most of the hotels where I have stayed had windows that opened. As for the elevator issue, I usually use the stairs although the elevator would be an issue on check-in / check-out days depending on the amount of luggage needed. I will admit my hotel stays are 100% suburban and I rarely if ever end up in a room higher than the 3rd or 4th floor.

You are probably far safer on an airplane where everyone is in their seats (u, masked up and facing in one direction; than in a private home gathering of extended family where people are unmasked, eating and drinking at the table together, and basically all over each other for an entire evening.

I don't see how that could be possible especially if it's an hours long flight and people take off the masks to eat and drink.

The air turnover in modern planes is incredible.

So you think getting on a plane is fine but eating dinner at 10pm in a restaurant isn't?

Given those two choices and forcing me to pick one? I'd get on the plane, and I hate flying.

Well I haven't been inside at restaurant at 10pm.

But in essence, yes, I'd feel safer on a plane for a few hours with the filtration and air exchange on modern planes vs sitting inside a typical restaurant for an hour or two. Yes. Absolutely. Air changing incredibly efficiently and frequently vs stagnant air.
