Spanish founded Miami, a long name, misión tequesta, etc, in the golfo viscaino to convert tequestans that died of sickness, The last ones died in Havanna.
The oldest structure shoub be the church, that must be under water, in the mout of miami river.

Pensacola, Tampa, San Agustin and Cayo Hueso

I will also add that Miami may be the worst sports town in America when compared to all other cities have have the big 4 (i.e., NFL, MLB,NBA, and NHL) represented there.

Dolphins ranked 16th, perfectly average, in NFL home attendance in 2017. I have heard that the owner buys seats so that home games are televised.

Southern Florida has produced its share of MLB and NFL players.

Miami has its fair share of die-hard and fair-weather fans, like most every other major sports city.

Sounds like this UMCanes guy and other serial Miami bashers have a chip on their shoulder.

Miami offers an urban environment, warm temperatures, and plenty of water on US soil in a no state-income tax state.

Other than that, it is somewhere in the middle of the pack with regards to everything else among major cities across the globe.

But humans complain no matter what.

Good Luck!

Very Latin. Some places they address you in Spanish. It’s not changing any time soon.

Miami is very American. I'm talking about city planning, organization, outlook.
Language is irrelevant

Would you prefer Miami/FLL MSA to be the worst sports town in America with only 1 of the big 4–see San Diego....with the exception of MLB I would say Miami supports its teams—(and I go to 3-4 games/year at Marlins Park). I am glad we have all 4 leagues represented here plus good college ball.

Yeah, the 'U' is definitely the most popular sports team in Miami with the Dolphins in 2nd.
