Well, lets just hope the dead dinosaur carcass' aren't replaced with living Dinosaurs from China.
No problem. If they are from China they will break.

On income taxes, we are not taxed on what we make. We are taxed on want we KEEP. The system is designed to keep the money moving.

You're absolutely right, which is the reason why I don't HAVE any.

But Bill and Melinda don't have much either - their Foundation does - but get this - it doesn't move much and ain't taxed.

If you want to HAVE money, don't put it in a bank, put it in a Foundation. The Foundation only needs to send $100.00 to a school kid doing poorly and the rest of the Foundation cash can just sit tight.

Like you implied, AVOIDING taxes is legal, but EVADING taxes isn't.

Otherwise, someone might be convicted of TAX AVOISION.

i love this thread. very interesting on how people view taxes. The word "tax" has such a bad stigma behind it. Taxes aren't bad they are needed. This is what i would do with taxes.

1. Flat Tax-everyone pays the same no matter what. yes that means no more tax rebates. why you ask is because it is everyones civic duty to pay them. i know you dont want to pay for someone on welfare in detroit who is lazy and sucks at life. but the guy in kalamazoo who works for dicks plumbing doesnt want to pay for your roads that you drive on. It goes full circle.

2. Why do pay the feds more taxes than we do our own state. what is michigans income tax now 4.35% i think, not bad really. i say jack it up to 10%. Now you are like dang that sucks. well here come the other half.

3. lower federal income tax to 10%. now everyone is paying 20% in taxes. yep no rebates. all the same. well obviously if some how you over paid then yes you get a rebate.

The reason for these past two is that i think that i heard/read that for every dollar we give the feds they only give us back .85 cents. While People in Alaska get 1.80 something for every dollar. I am thinking i dont like that very much.

I know we do live in the United States first. then our home states. but how much more money dothe feds need from us. they suck at managing it. now we cant say the same for MI but its a smaller government.

I think the simplest thing is to replace the whole crazy tax system with a 15% sales tax on everything except food. That way, pimps and drug dealers and stuff are paying taxes like everyone else. No more hiding income. And it wipes out tax inequality. If you want to blow your money on a yacht, go ahead. We poor folk will go on swapping flower seeds and reading used books for entertainment.
