What? You replied to my post with some kind of put down. Since I didn't get it, I asked you to explain yourself. If you don't, your put down is lost on me and you've wasted your time.

I'm a woman and I loathed it. The costumes and sets were magnificent and visually it was superb ( apart from really appalling special effects) but the film as a whole was grossly over-rated, exploitative and voyeuristic in my opinion.

But maybe these romantic movies aren't my thing-- as I really hated Casablanca...

I'll throw out:
Saving Private Ryan
The Little Mermaid / The Lion King / Aladdin (come on, how can you not love disney?)
The Godfather (seriously, who could not love this movie?)
All About Steve (ok this one's a joke...)
I for one loved All About Steve!

I'll add to the list:

My Cousin Vinny (we just watched it again last night and commented that they really don't make truly funny stuff like that anymore)

It's a Wonderful Life

Forrest Gump (although my FIL hates this movie, he is the only one I've ever heard who didn't like it)

Maybe there should be a new thread titled "Movies YOU liked but other people don't seem to"...I know I could come up with a few of those.
