Paranormal Activity was horrible. Although it does win the award for the most over-hyped movie ever. After seeing it I wanted my money back. Probably one of the worst movies ever made.

my point exactly. it wasnt even a put down. that is why the QFT request was added. QFT = "Quoted For Truth". i had to look it up in the Urban Dictionary because someone gave me a QFT. i thought it meant quit ****in' talking. my point is, what i said wasnt meant to be a put down, but just a matter of fact. as i stated before, i was not sounding off in defense of the movie, Groundhog Day, i was just stating a material fact that is objectively true. that truth being this:

if you have never even heard of the movie Goodfellas (1990, starring Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, and Joe Pesci) then it calls into question your movie knowledge, and taste. it's not inconcievable that you may have never seen the movie - if say, you were born some time after 1987, and have lived a very sheltered life. but to have never even heard of this particular film, it is almost unbelievable, and it really does hurt your credibility in a movie discussion about what's good and what isnt.

my recommendation: watch Goodfellas.

One of my favorite movies that I haven't seen mentioned here that I think would have mass appeal is, "Catch me if you can".

I dare you to find someone who hates one of these movies.
1. Forrest Gump had Sally Field in it. 'nuff said.
2. I fell asleep halfway through Shrek, that's how much I liked it.
3. Watching Robin Williams have a manic episode in drag is not entertainment. Oh yeah, and Sally Field was in it.

I am a man and I loved it. I must have seen it 50 times.

How about Avatar? I really liked that one, and it got great reviews from nearly everyone. I have not met anyone who doesn't like it.

Avatar was awesome! The plot was so original! I don't think I've seen it anywhere else... definitely not sometime in 1990...

Original?

Avatar is NOT Dances With Wolves | Gunaxin Media

I have to agree with others, there is no movie that everyone likes/no one dislikes.
That would be impossible. If you do a search on here, you will see many did not like Avatar either.
Differences of opinions keep the forums interesting.

I guess you didn't catch the sarcasm in my post, when I was referring to 1990 (when dances with wolves was released), I was referring to Dances with Wolves, which Avatar copied the plot of.

Honestly, I thought Avatar was very boring-- and no where near as good as District 9, which came out the same year.

Sorry," Duh" on my part.

Agree,Dist 9 was an amazing movie.
Near the end of Avatar, I started squirming and looking at my watch.
