Tony Iommi's Dad gave them crosses to wear as they travelled Europe, for the reason of "safe travels". BTW, Sabbath was not a satanic band. They were anti-establishment, not anti-heavenly father. There is a big difference between the two. Most secular rock bands are anti-establishment, and some even Christian rock bands are, as they are referring to the establishment being at odds with God's love for the weak.
