I am moving to the Nashville area in February (I am currently in S. Florida). Needless to say, trying to rent a home via the internet is very difficult. I found a home that seems ideal for my situation (it has a mother-in-law suite - my son, daughter-in-law and grandchild will be living together when we get there) -- but I have no idea about the area.

Here's the address: 317 Leopole RD Nashville TN US 37211
and a link to the Google Map:
loc: 317 Leopole Nashville TN US - Google Maps

Any info on this area appreciated. I will fly up and look at it before renting but I don't want to fly up if the house is in a bad neighborhood that I know I wouldn't want to live in.

Thanks for any advise!!

It is a fairly middle of the road kind of area, by no means the worst part of town. This is an extremely diverse part of Nashville so lots of Hispanics, Kurds, and Southeast Asians along with black and white. Some like that, others don't.

I don't think I would want to live east of Nolensville Road and that close to Haywood. I would probably pick a different area. The area around Edmondson Pike is not too far from that area and would be safer.

I know the Mother in law suite may be hard to find but I think for that price you could find the same size house in another part of town or maybe even a nice suburb like Goodlettsville.

Thanks everyone! I REALLY appreciate the advice. I have a 2 yr old grandson who loves to play outdoors so I do not want to be in a neighborhood that is not safe. I think I will keep looking! =)

Agreed with the other posters...it is probably okay, but definitely not a sure thing in that area. I'd keep looking if I could.

That is not a bad area to live in. It is a block over from Haywood Elementary School. The area does have a high population of Hispanics, followed by Kirdish, Whites then African Americans. Many of the people have either lived in the community for years. Just because an areas is ethnically diverse does not make it unsafe...The schools zone in that area are Haywood Elementary, McMurray Middle and Overton High.

OK - from East of Nolensville Road to where? Is east of I-24 safe/good area?
