I drove from Moose Jaw Saskatchewan to Niagara falls last week. 2900 km in total. I have done that drive a lot of times and have seen a lot of wildlife along the route. I did't see too much this time. Two moose, one fox, one beaver and one bald eagle. It was stormy and raining hard most of the way and I guess most of the critters were under shelter.

Awesome for you to see the little one in person...my previous location a doe would have twins each yr...never saw them really small though, just older but still with spots.

Looks like a great trail through the mt laurel. That location in WV looks quite similar to Roan Mt, along the border of TN/NC...a bald area with rocks and mt laurel and also rhododendron...long-range views.

Thanks uggabugga, we can always count on your trips to provide us with nature pics!
glad you enjoyed
i think the sallymander's name is bill

here's one more west virginian i forgot-

a nice colorful sallymander:
there were mountain laurels in bloom all over the top of the mountain, these pics don't really do them justice.

This is a Daddy Long Legs? Right? I have never seen a red one. But I have never seen one in the middle of nature either! HA Anyone know?

Here is one just because I got it back!

I was looking out of my patio windows this morning, this little Toad was strolling across the patio.

After a couple of minutes, I thought it best I get out there and move him, just as I got to the door, a Magpie that was just about to take him, had to make a hasty retreat, (he was within four feet if the little fellow)!

That was close!

Here are the pictures.

Yes, he was determined, so I then moved him to a much safer part of the garden.

Gee, I don't know, GBH....it's a bit hard to tell in that photo but I'm guessing it's the Red Eft stage of a Red Spotted Newt. Tough to tell, size, spots, etc..

I saw a bug fly in the house. About an hour later, caught it in a cup and flung it out the door.
