Spaulding,NE gets overlooked. YOu want remote and quite Mayberry RFD type of town this is the place.

And I agree with Red Cloud, NE they have all of the above even a small 6 lane bowling allie.

Oh don't foreget about Broken Bow.

Yes indeedy. One stoplight... & some fast food restaurants too. Having lived in Red Lodge, Montana for years back in the 90's, we always said we'd move were a stoplight or a MickyDees come to town. No fast food yet so far as I am aware, though I've heard tell that there's now a flasher at the north end of town.

Yes, Cherry county, gorgeous country. My favorite Nebraska county, truthfully. Will go taking an adventure cruise on occasion & am nearly always able to stop right on the state highways out there while composing a photograph, there is such light traffic. Love it.

There is another community worth mentioning: ~Thedford~ Certainly this small, tight village is worth a peek.
Balanced politics county-wide, artsy, remote & clean & open. Check her out, you may well like what you find there...
many friends of whom you've not met yet. :-)

Default Most Interesting Thread Ever

Do yourself a favor and start at the beginning. ANY County with one (1, count 'em, 1!) stop light, is worth taking your next vacation in).
